A House With Character
The Wendy Hill project was a special one for us. Our intention for this renovation was not to make the home feel shiny and new, but rather to preserve the character and give the space a lived-in feel as though it had been there all along.
The existing kitchen had a very small footprint and two usable drawers in the entire space. We removed a wall and utilized an unused dining room to double its size and add plenty of new drawer space. We installed white oak hardwoods and custom stained them to coordinate with the original wood tones and opted for greige cabinets, complimented by honed marble countertops and unlacquered brass fixtures, both sure to patina in the best way over time.
We also gave the powder room, wet bar, and laundry room a makeover while ensuring the newly renovated home reflected the authenticity of the original. The bones of this house are classic, and we wanted to keep the original wood-stained paneling and trim throughout. Warm paint colors, textured grasscloth, and beadboard enhance each space and evoke a reminiscent feeling.
