A Modern Traditional Home

The Carmain Project was a special one for us. We basically took the house down to the studs and got to start over. Most of the footprint stayed the same, but we gave ourselves a fully clean pallet to work with.

The client loves color but we wanted to tone it down and make the colors feel more neutral and classic, yet still create a powerful impact. We worked with lots of trending wallpapers and textures throughout and really fine-tuned the mix of classic and current, like pairing modern art with 75-year-old vintage Turkish rugs.

Custom furniture design is one of the many services we offer our clients, and we selected custom upholstery for nearly every piece to tie everything together. You’ll also see custom millwork in nearly every room, from the coffered ceiling in the dining room to the picture frame moulding in the hallway. Each room took on such a personality, yet this modern traditional home design still feels cohesive and flows from space to space.

We were actually only able to photograph half of this home, as we are still waiting on some very important pieces, so stay tuned for tour number two, in January!
